A great little diner on the side of the highway, staff is always friendly the food's always good. The daily specials range from ribs and meatloaf to chicken fried steak. They have good fish and chips on Fridays. they're getting ready to build a new one, which will be nice. The dining rooms are a little dated, but they're in good shape, and they're always clean.
This little diner is located right on Hwy 69 with easy in and out access. Just look for the red roof and you are there. We stopped around 2:30 so we're able to sit anywhere. The waitress was very nice and suggested the Burrito special, prices $8.99 and husband got the Chicken Fried steak for $10.99. Both pictured except the steak also came with a nice sized salad. This is not a fancy place, just a clean small diner with people that care about what they serve and strive to keep prices reasonable, menu also attached. Another plus, they are no smoking. But they do have a covered patio area for smokers. I also saw that they have all you can eat fish on Fridays but we came on a Thursday. Help support these small town diners as you travel through or if new to the area. UPDATE: If you are in the area on Friday, this deal can't be beat: see photos Also a healthy slice of homemade pie or large scoop of cobbler only $2.99! Whole pies $16.00.
Good small town Cafe! I live in a small town so these little cafes are often my favorite. This one also fit the bill. Good food, fast service, surrounded by small talk. A good place to eat if you are in the area. Everything the south is meant to be, good food, iced tea, and good people.
We were driving through on our way back home to Texas, and this was the only place we could find that was close. The people were all super friendly, the restaurant and bathrooms were clean. And the food was fresh and amazing!!!
We've been able to stop here two or three times over the last year. My family and I live in Fort Worth but I take them camping a lot. I'm a Veteran and I can't stand the corporate chains that have taken over our country so I do my best to go to locally owned places like this. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. My kids tried to eat the plates. The wait staff took great care of us and I parked a 45 foot rig next door where they're building something. We sat at the table beneath a wall of photos and my kids not knowing any better thought that a few were friends and family because we all look so alike. My wife liked the place so much that she bought food to go and ate is again for dinner.
Chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and cream gravy with a side of fried okra. The atmosphere and service was great. Everyone was very friendly! All this for 12 bucks..
